Two rivalry games take centerstage on the Section VII high school diamonds [Video]

Section VII high school baseball and softball on Thursday, April 25 featured two rivalry matchups. The classic Clinton County rivalry of Beekmantown High School and Peru High School met on the baseball diamond. Despite Peru starting off the season on a 5-0 start, it was Beekmantown who took control from the get-go, securing a 12-3 win at home. “It’s a great win,” said Beekmantown starting pitcher Patrick Hagadorn. “Props to them. They are a great team, but it’s just good to go out and beat them; it’s an amazing win for us, and we are really excited.”The Eagles tallied runs in every inning except the second and fifth innings. The biggest hit of the afternoon came in the third inning when Zach Lapier hit a three-run home run.
