SAN CARLOS, Arizona — Disaster tax relief has been made available by the IRS for the people and businesses of the San Carlos Apache Tribe affected by the Watch Fire.

The fire burned from July 10-17, and forced the evacuations of more than 400 people, with officials declaring a state of emergency.
At least 21 homes were destroyed in the fire that burned 2,162 acres.
The IRS relief allows affected residents until Feb. 3, 2025 to file various federal individual and business tax returns and make tax payments.
“Individuals and households that reside or have a business in this locality qualify for tax relief,” the IRS said in a news release.
