Halloween is many things. It’s costumes and scary movies. It’s staying up late and maybe throwing toilet paper on someone’s house, but it’s also candy and lots of it. Candy sales are never as high as they are around Halloween. And we took *** look at what kind of candy is popular according to state and found some interesting stuff according to *** report released by delivery company Instacart. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the top three picks in the US are the ever popular. Reese’s Peanut butter cups, Peanut M and M’s and regular M and MS followed by Tootsie Pops, Twizzlers and Hershey’s milk chocolate somehow. And I don’t really understand how, but candy corn actually came in eighth before Starburst and Kit Kat and one can divide these candies into states and regions. Huffpost reports. The people in Louisiana, Missouri and New Mexico bought more Tootsie Pops than the national average for instance. Meanwhile, Twizzlers got extra love along the east coast and Red Vines, the arch nemesis of Twizzlers dominated the west coast. It really is quite exciting to see how candy preferences change over time. Some classic treats will never go away while others fluctuate in their rankings one thing is for sure though, with the uptick in the sale of candy. So goes the uptick in the sale of toothpaste and floss. Enjoy Halloween candy, but don’t forget to take care of those teeth.
