GREAT AMERICAN ECLIPSE: Expect thousands traveling to Mountain Home, Ark., on Monday [Video]

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. (KY3) – Officials with the Chamber of Commerce in Mountain Home, Ark. give details on what you should expect during the solar eclipse on Monday.

Dani Pugsley with the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce said they’ve been planning for the solar eclipse since she started working at the chamber at the beginning of 2021 so they’re expecting a huge turnout come Monday.

“I’ll be honest with you, we are preparing for at least for our population to double. Maybe anywhere from 12,000 to 15,000 additional people to come into town. Those numbers are based off of the communities that we’ve talked to that have gone through the eclipse in 2017,” Pugsley said. “However, right now as of the latest weather reports they are showing that Mountain Home might be one of the few spots in the state that have little to no cloud coverage come Monday.
