EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — An Evansville family is navigating a difficult holiday season after a series of devastating events. Zachary McCoy, with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer the day after Thanksgiving.
“About two months ago, Zachary was driving home from work when someone ran a red light and T-boned him, totaling our only car,” Taylor McCoy said. “We haven’t had a vehicle to get to treatments or anything.”
Taylor McCoy, Zachary’s wife, detailed the obstacles they face caring for their four children—ages 10, 8, and 6-year-old twins—while juggling medical appointments and travel between Newburgh, Oblong, and Indianapolis.
