One holiday bargain hunter asked NewsCenter 5 for help after Boston-based Wayfair canceled an item she found marked down during Black Friday. The online home furnishing retailer claimed the product wasn’t in stock, but the customer found it was at a much higher price.Ashley Paine is in the market for a new patio set, and so over Thanksgiving weekend, she found herself browsing Black Friday sales on Wayfair.”I found one that was on a really good deal. It was 70 percent off,” she said. “Almost a no-brainer to buy it at that point.”Paine promptly placed the order, paying $269.99 for a five-person seating set, quite the markdown from its $900 price tag.”It did feel too good to be true,” she said.Turns out, it was.
