A line of Corvettes ranging from C1 to C8 lined the streets of a small Texas community Saturday, ready to knock on the door of an elderly veteran and surprise him with thousands of dollars worth of free repairs to his home.
The donation was the result of a lot of hard work by members of the East Texas chapter of Vettes for Vets, who raised the funds through a car show held two weeks ago.
Nominated by his friend Mary Ann Nelson, 78-year-old veteran Jim Rapp told KLTV 7 News reporter Alex Weister that he was so shocked by the kind deed, the usually talkative veteran was left speechless.
