VIA Hall of Honor inductees revealed [Video]

SAN ANTONIO — Esperanza “Hope” Andrade and the late Marilyn Jones will be honored later this week for their influence and advocacy efforts toward the San Antonio transit system.

Andrade, a successful entrepreneur and businesswoman, will be recognized for her lifelong dedication to the San Antonio community and advocacy for public transportation, according to a VIA Metropolitan Transit press release. She served as the chair of the VIA board of trustees from 2015 to 2019 where she led innovative efforts that helped made the agency award-winning, according to the Texas A&M Transportation Institute. 

She has accumulated numerous other accolades and recognition for her work over the years, and was previously inducted into the Texas Transportation Hall of Honor in 2020.
