Stockton mum ‘had to stand and watch business burn’ after Bonfire Night summerhouse fire [Video]

A young family have been left “devastated” after their business was destroyed by a fire.

Laura Smith, 30, her partner Andrew Jackson, 32, and their toddler Willow-Rae were attending a get together at a friend’s house just streets away from their Stockton home when a fire tore through their garden on Bonfire Night. The family’s shed was engulfed in flames which spread to Laura’s summer house where she runs The Wild Willow Gift Company from.

The alarm was raised by Laura’s neighbour who called her in a frantic panic. Laura explained: “I received a phone call from my neighbour who was screaming down the phone saying ‘you need to come home, you need to come home’.

“She was just sobbing and screaming on the phone saying ‘your shed is on fire, your shed is on fire’. Everyone was stood out on the street.
