JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – ‘Farish Street Forward’ means exactly what it says, pushing Farish Street forward!
It’s a two-day celebration promoting the culture, history, and legacy of the historic Street District with hopes of bringing the once vibrant area back to life again.
The event kicked off with a panel discussion on an array of topics, such as entertainment, health, and media.
Successful business owners like former Saints wide receiver Marques Colston were also on hand educating those attending on how to become great entrepreneurs.
“I just hope that people, specifically the ones that are starting businesses just were able to get an insight or a nugget that they can take and implement into their businesses,” Colston said.
Jamming beats from the Jackson State Sonic Boom of the South Marching Band were some of the sights and sounds at Saturday’s festival.
Hollywood actor Lance Gross even showed up as the emcee, wowing the audience.
