Prince Andrew could be evicted from the Royal Lodge if he severely neglects the Windsor home, according to a property expert.
Following reports that King Charles scrapped his brother’s £1million-per-year allowance, new photos of the Lodge show its exterior walls looking worn down, displaying visible mould, patchy repair work and structural cracks.
The Duke of York has had a 75-year lease on the property he shares with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, since 2003.
According to The Sun, he has already spent millions on maintenance over the years, but could now face additional costs of £400,000.
Terry Fisher of We Buy Any Home said that while eviction is “an unlikely and extreme outcome”, it’s not completely ruled out if Andrew fails to meet key obligations within the lease.
“The lease for Royal Lodge reportedly includes maintenance responsibilities, especially given the property’s historic status,” he explained.
