SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio fire crews battled a huge house fire on the south side early Thursday morning, according to officials.
Firefighters responded to the 200 block of McCauley Boulevard around 2:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the home which threatened the house next door, fire officials said.
Crews were able to contain the fire and knock it down but as they were working a powerline fell across one of their fire trucks, officials said.
According to fire crews, three residents were able to escape the fire and no one was injured. The home was heavily damaged.
The family says the rental property manager is working to place the family in a different home.
