FORT THOMAS, Ky. (WXIX) – A mother and daughter from Fort Thomas continue to rebuild their lives after a fire destroyed their Evanston home in November.
The fire happened on Duck Creek Road. The structure of their house is still standing, but everything inside was destroyed. They rented the home without insurance. They describe their lives as divided – before the fire and how they’ve struggled since.
“When I tell people that we lost everything, I would tell them to imagine the smallest detail in their home,” Tyra Berry said. “Everything was gone. We had to walk away immediately.”
Not only did Berry and her daughter lose their home and personal belongings, but she was also moving her wig shop out of the Florence Mall. All of her inventory was in the house.
