New candidate announces bid for newly-drawn State Senate District 30, representing large span of Green Bay [Video]

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – A new candidate has thrown his hat in the ring for the newly-drawn 30th State Senate District.

Jamie Wall announced Wednesday he’s running for the new district, which consists of De Pere, almost all of Green Bay, the Villages of Allouez, Ashwaubenon, and Bellevue, and parts of the Townships of Ledgeview and Rockland.

Wall touts himself as a small business owner and says he served in leadership roles on the Green Bay Water Commission and his local neighborhood association.

His campaign announcement said he’s received support from Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich, as well as Senate Democratic Leader Dianne Hesselbein, Senator Jeff Smith, and Senator Kelda Roys, among others.

This announcement comes after Wisconsin Democratic Gov. Tony Evers signed new legislative district maps into law in mid-February. Democrats are almost certain to gain seats in the state Senate and Assembly when the maps are in place for the November election.
