Mississippi Division of Medicaid signs new coordinated care contracts [Video]

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Mississippi’s Division of Medicaid Executive Director recently signed new coordinated care contracts. The agency started taking a different approach to managing the healthcare coverage for some of those enrolled and there will be some changes starting next year.

More than 480,000 Medicaid enrollees in Mississippi are eligible for coordinated care services. That is primarily moms, babies, Social Security disabled individuals, and children.”

The State pays the coordinated care organizations for the Medicaid services specified in their contracts. Beginning in July of 2025, there will be three options including TrueCare that’s a non-profit provider-led plan. That means it is governed by multiple hospitals from around the state.

“Our main calling is to make sure that we’re getting the providers, the patients, on the same page, and that ultimately that results in better health care for the patient, which just simply improves the quality of life for that …
