Man who died in plane crash at Duxford Airfield named and pictured | UK News [Video]

A man who died after the private plane he was piloting crashed at the Imperial War Museum airfield in front of visitors has been named as Simon Riggs.

The father-of-three was flying the privately owned General Aviation Cirrus SR22 when it crashed at Duxford Airfield on Tuesday.

He was a tech entrepreneur from Ampthill, Bedfordshire, and is survived by his wife Karen, three adult children and three adult step children.

His son Sam Holstock-Marshall said Simon ‘lived his life to the fullest’.

Sam wrote: ‘It is with a heavy heart that I’m sharing this news.

‘Yesterday afternoon Simon Riggs passed away. A much loved husband, father and friend.

‘Having recently stepped down from working life, Simon continued to live his life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed.
