More than two decades in the making, Samford’s men’s basketball team has secured their spot in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2000.The team learned their location and opponent alongside devoted fans during a Selection Sunday watch party in Homewood.”It all started right here in Homewood,” said senior forward Jermaine Marshall. “So you see everybody coming out and supporting us, it means a lot.”Marshall described a supportive atmosphere, not just from the fans, but from head coach Bucky McMillan too.”He care about you as much as he care about the trainer, the assistants, the managers,” Marshall said. “He want everybody around him to win.” And win they have.
