VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — An Evansville man was arrested and charged with animal cruelty after being accused of hitting a dog, giving it a fractured eye socket and other injuries.
Officials in Vanderburgh County say the investigation started in early February, after an official with the Warrick County Humane Society provided an animal cruelty report involving an employee.
An arrest affidavit says the humane society official explained that the employee took a pit bull named Chevy home from work, but later returned the dog with injuries. Deputies say the dog was being cared for at an animal hospital, where it was discovered to have a fractured eye socket and other injuries to its face.
