Retired NFL quarterback Brett Favre revealed on Tuesday that he was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.Favre made the admission while speaking before a House Ways and Means Committee hearing in Washington, D.C. The Republican-led congressional committee is examining how states are falling short on using welfare to help families in need. Favre has repaid just over $1 million in speaking fees funded by a welfare program in Mississippi. Favre said the scandal has hurt his name and hurt him financially, as well.”Sadly, I also lost investment in a company I believed was developing a breakthrough concussion drug I thought would help others, and I’m sure you’ll understand why it’s too late for me, because I’ve recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s,” Favre said. “This is also a cause dear to my heart.
