BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (WTVG) – A new fee to use a public park in Bowling Green has some residents scratching their heads.
Park officials say the $25 fee will allow more commercial businesses to utilize the parks outside.
Members of the Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Board are mulling over the idea that would also require the applicant to have $1 million in insurance coverage if they decided to do business with the parks department.
“And so sometimes people come to the park director and would like to have a business activity, a commercial activity in the parks, in the green space and they can’t,” park board member Katelyn Elliott said, referring to the city’s current policy that commercial business is not allowed in any outdoor greenspace within the city’s nine parks.
