Seeing the devastating wildfires in California, you may be considering donating to help the victims. FOX23 spoke with the Better Business Bureau about donating without getting scammed.
Thousands of people lost their homes and everything they own to flames in California.
While they could use your help, Amie Mitchell, CEO of the Better Business Bureau of Eastern Oklahoma, says to be cautious when you donate.
“Unfortunately, scammers are going to use any sort of tragic event to get money out of consumers,” said Mitchell.
Not only have so many people lost their homes, some families have lost loved ones and their are survivors recovering from injuries.
