WASHINGTON D.C., DC — A St. Louis man living in Washington, D.C., witnessed the deadly collision between an American Airlines jet and a Black Hawk helicopter that killed 67 people.
As the entire nation continues to wait for answers, DeAndre Gates shared what he saw through his front windshield on his drive home from work Wednesday night.
Gates was born and raised in St. Louis and relocated to Washington, D.C., about four months ago.
Gates said it was a typical evening drive on his way home from his office in Maryland, until he saw what he described as an explosion falling into the Potomac River.
