Thousands more Americans appear to be searching the Irish housing market as they consider migrating following Donald Trump’s election win last Tuesday, writes Adam Pogrund.
Property website MyHome.ie said US-based searches for housing in Ireland increased 120% after Trump’s victory.
Although pre-election polls predicted a tight race for the White House, Trump’s emphatic victory saw him win all seven swing states in the country.
The Republicans also gained control of the Senate and are on the verge of clinching the House of Representatives, giving Trump significant power to pass his political agenda.
In the five days after last Tuesday’s election, there were 11,023 US visitors to MyHome.ie, more than double the 5,003 from the five days before.
