Its not something you see every day’: Colorado officer recalls kangaroo chase caught on camera [Video]

DURANGO, Colo. (KKTV) – Officer Zoe Preskorn has been with the Durango Police Department for about a year and a half… but she said an interesting call in September was a first for her.

“When I first heard the call come out, I just was hoping that it was real,” Preskorn told 11 News. “I was hoping that there would actually be a kangaroo hopping around somewhere.”

Durango Police received this call from someone walking home from work Sept. 18: “I know I sound insane, this is not a prank call, there’s seriously like a small, two foot kangaroo hopping around with a diaper on.”

Bodycam footage from Preskorn and other responding officers caught that very real kangaroo hopping around downtown Durango as the officers laughed about the unusual situation and tried to figure out just how to catch a kangaroo.
