Multiple dead after fire at home in Cattaraugus County [Video]

Yorkshire, N.Y. (WBEN) – New York State Police have confirmed four people have died following an early morning house fire in Cattaraugus County.

The fire broke out at 3825 Creek Road in the Town of Yorkshire. The call went out to emergency responders at approximately 2:11 a.m. ET. By the time crews arrived at the house, it was already engulfed in flames.

Early investigation work indicates the fire likely started in the kitchen area.

State Trooper James O’Callaghan told reporters in a briefing on Friday morning that the house belonged to the Cook family.

One family member was able to make it out of the house, and make the call to 9-1-1. That family member is said to be in good health, at this time, and was last known to be stationed at the Machias Trooper barracks with outside family members.
