11-year-old shot in south Tulsa, police say | News [Video]

TULSA, Okla. — An 11-year-old was shot in the head Thursday night in south Tulsa, police said.

Tulsa Police said officers were on a traffic stop around 10:20 p.m. when they heard multiple shots being fired near 81st and Memorial.

Officers responded to that area and began investigating when they learned an 11-year-old boy was in the hospital for a shooting. The child’s mother told police they were at the house when someone fired shots at the home from outside. Only the 11-year-old was hit.

Police said the boy was taken into surgery and there’s no update on his condition.
