Firebird Metals Ltd (ASX:FRB, OTC:FRBMF) managing director Peter Allen talks with Proactive’s Tylah Tully about the company’s operations in China and the competitive advantages of producing LMFP (Lithium Manganese Iron Phosphate) in the region.
Allen highlighted China’s unique industrial parks, advanced technology and cost efficiencies as key drivers for Firebird Metals’ strategic growth in the country.
“China’s industrial parks offer a low-capital, low-operating-cost environment, with access to reagents, off-takers and complete waste-free processes,” Allen explained.
He emphasised the proximity to global battery production hubs, noting that one-third of the world’s battery gigafactories are in or near the Hunan province where Firebird operates.
Allen also discussed the company’s growth strategy: “Our focus is to demonstrate our capabilities in China and eventually expand to meet growing Western demand.”
Firebird Metals has received robust support from local governments, tax incentives and partnerships, which underpin its competitive position in the lithium battery supply chain.
