In a statement provided to 10 Tampa Bay on Wednesday, the city of St. Petersburg provided updates on water main breaks after Hurricane Milton.
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — On Wednesday, the city of St. Petersburg provided updates on water main breaks caused by Hurricane Milton.
While the total number is still being assessed, the city confirmed in a statement to 10 Tampa Bay that they “know of at least 38 primary water main breaks and have received more than 400 calls” to inspect leaks at homes and businesses throughout the city.
Officials said the majority of those breaks are related to trees that fell during the storm and added that when a tree falls, the roots lift up and break the surrounding water.
