WFMY News 2 has partnered with the Petty Family Foundation for Operation Appalachian Christmas — to collect toys for children in Western North Carolina.
From Wednesday, November 20 – Friday, December 14, people can buy new toys/items for children/families impacted by Helene. Toys will be collected, sorted, wrapped, and delivered via airplane in mid-December.
Ideas for items to be donated:
Kids age 1-5: Balls, dinosaur toys, legos, cars, dolls, fidget toys, play doh, learning toys, books, coats, clothes, hair brushes, hair ties, boots, etc
Kids age 6-10: Sports equipment, books, balls, legos, jewelry making kits, bicycles, coats, clothes, hair tools, boots, etc
Kids age 11-15: Nerf guns, clothes, shoes, books, gift cards, bicycles, coats, clothes, boots, etc
Kids age 15 – 17: Sports equipment, bicycles, make up, gift cards, costume jewelry, shoes, coats, sports jerseys, boots, etc
For families: Camp coffee pots, turkey fryers, camping supplies, cast iron skillets, and camping stoves
ALL ITEMS MUST BE NEW AND UNOPENED.
Items can be dropped …
