Video shows coyote chasing little girl through Portland backyard [Video]

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – This Portland girl calmly ran away from a coyote as it chased her through her backyard.

On Oct. 12, security video at a home in northeast Portland showed a coyote chasing a young girl as she tells her dad about the animal in pursuit.

Charlie Schmidt, the homeowner and girl’s dad, is seen in the footage working in his yard when his daughter appears in frame.

“Dad, there’s a coyote,” she says.

The footage shows the coyote chasing after her.

The girl calmly jumps on top of a picnic table in the backyard to evade the coyote. Her father notices the coyote and exclaims as he picks her up and runs to the other side of the house, the video shows.
