Veterans, first responders help build homes with Habitat for Humanity [Video]

The organization held a Veteran’s Build for those that have given back to the community.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — On Sprenger Avenue, in the Schiller Park neighborhood, you can hear the sound of good neighbors hard at work during Habitat for Humanity’s annual veteran’s build event. 

“We bring together local veterans, the Buffalo community veterans, first responders, coming out to build sites to help it build homes for those in need,” said Daniel May, in-kind procurement manager for Habitat for Humanity Buffalo. 

Winchester Fire Department first responder Troy Eberle knows firsthand what it’s like to serve the community. 

“It’s definitely a different situation. Nobody’s screaming, panicking, things like that. But you know, it’s the same it’s the same principle, right? You’re helping that person that really needs it. You’re giving them that support that they need in their time of need,” Eberle said. 

And it’s not just the community that benefits from these good deeds. …
