Vehicle stolen three times this year found near 9th and O streets in Lincoln, police say [Video]

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A 19-year-old was arrested after officers drew their firearms at a busy Lincoln intersection last week.

Mia Gonzalez, along with three juveniles, were arrested following a dramatic scene at the intersection of Ninth and O streets on Friday.

On Wednesday, Lincoln Police were called to a home near North 28th and Orchard streets just before 11 a.m. A man told officer his 2013 Hyundai Elantra had been stolen from his driveway.

He said it was the third time that it had been stolen in 2024, and that he’d just gotten the vehicle back the day before. The vehicle had its door and ignition broken in previous thefts, and the owner hadn’t had enough time to get it fixed before it was stolen again.

Two days later around 4 p.m., a police officer familiar with the theft spotted a vehicle matching the description driving in front of his vehicle on the Harris Overpass. …
