GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – A local pizza shop in Boiling Springs held a fundraiser for a family after they lost their loved one during Hurricane Helene.
On the morning of Sept. 27, Hurricane Helene hit the Upstate. Ronnie Fletcher was on his way home from work when he got a phone call from his daughter Annamaria Fletcher.
“She said ‘stay where you are at, the weather is getting too bad,’” Ronnie said. “I told her I was about two miles away and she said, ‘okay be careful and I love you’ and I said I love you too.”
Annamaria’s sister Autumn Fletcher was also at the home and heard the tree fall. Autumn says it sounded like an explosion had gone off.
“When I went into the room, she was in there and she was still screaming, it was bad,” said Ronnie.
