UK riots: Businesses board up over fears far-right targeting 100 areas today | UK News [Video]

A case of alleged terrorism is ‘actively under consideration’ following widespread far-right riots and disorder across the country.

Over the last week far-right agitators have torn through the streets of major towns and cities, attacking police officers and buildings housing asylum seekers.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Stephen Parkinson said: ‘No one’s been charged with a terrorism offence yet. I’m aware of one case which is actively under consideration.

‘We’re working very closely with counter terrorism police, so I know there are a number of inquiries that are potentially underway – that includes scouring the internet and social media, looking out for the potential for terrorism offences to be committed.’

Businesses across the UK are bracing themselves for another night of violent unrest, as more than 100 events planned and 30 potential counter protests are set to unfold tonight.
