A small business in the San Gabriel Valley is struggling after young vandals damaged 18 of their maid service vehicles.

Cleaning company Pink Sponge is easily recognized by their bright pink Volkswagen bugs with eyelashes around the headlights. On April 20, three kids under the age of 18 allegedly started twerking on the cars and thrashing them.

“We started Pink Sponge about four years ago to help those that were in need and struggling with cancer,” co-founder Jennifer Ahlgrim told KNX News’ Emily Valdez. “We’re actually pink because 5% of our proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Society each year.”

“We just ask our community to be aware and to understand how devastating this is to a small business, and this isn’t something that you recover from overnight,” she added.
