Tourists, artists try to make the best of shorter Fairhope Arts and Crafts festival [Video]

FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) — Artists from around the region headed home early and with fewer dollars in their pockets after weather forced the early cancellation of the Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival Sunday.

People were trying to make the best of a disappointing situation. Streets were clear Sunday morning in downtown Fairhope. It’s on a day that should have been crammed with customers.

“Artists are losing money, especially the people that are coming from away. It’s a huge blow,” said local Fairhope Artist Fran Gentile.
