Nebraska now shifts its focus from the Big Ten season to the postseason after a hard-hitting schedule on the court, on the road and in the air.The Huskers are confident after a challenging season with the Big Ten super conference and heavy travel schedule, but coach John Cook said it’s all more reason to get pumped up.”This is a great challenge for us to try to win this new conference, kind of a super conference with those four teams in there, plus all the added travel that you’re going to have,” Cook said.Cook was rocking the back-to-back Big Ten title gear along with seniors Lexi Rodriguez and Merritt Beason after Saturday’s win against Maryland. In Lincoln on Sunday, you could hear the team cheering from across the building when they learned they’d start the postseason against Florida A&M.READ MORE: Nebraska, Creighton earn national selections in 2024 NCAA Volleyball Tournament”To get to celebrate here and be a top four seed means we get to play at home. They’re now statistically better and lost fewer games this season.”I’m sure it’ll be it’ll be used as fuel and motivation going into this tournament. But I mean like Lexi said, we just try to stay in routine and try to just do what we do every single day and not overcomplicate it,” Beason said. The team captains and head coach ready to crank it up later this week, after some much needed downtime first.”We’ll go through a recovery workout tomorrow. We’re going to have kind of a mini yoga session and stuff like that. Try to give them some downtime because we, you know, we’ve literally been together for half this month on the road,” Cook said.Cook described this season as the real deal after he said last season was a magical run.He challenged the fans to will the team to the championship.Click here for the latest headlines from KETV NewsWatch 7
