Dingley Press employees evacuated after printing press catches fire [Video]

Dingley Press employees were evacuated from the printing company’s building in Lisbon after a printing press caught fire Monday morning, according to officials.Lisbon Fire Chief Craig Bouchard said the fire was reported shortly after 9 a.m. and that nearly a dozen fire vehicles from Lisbon and surrounding communities responded to Dingley Press. No injuries were reported in connection with the fire, according to Bouchard. Most employees have been sent home for the day with the exception of critical maintenance employees, who need to inspect the printing press that caught fire.”I’m in my third week here, so this is my first here. But as I understand the history, it is not common but it does happen on occasion,” Bouchard said. The section of Lisbon Street near Dingley Press, which is part of Route 196, was closed to traffic until about noon.Dingley Press was founded in Lewiston nearly 100 years ago. The company made moves to Portland and Freeport before settling into its current location in Lisbon in 1981. Dingley Press said its Lisbon building puts the company in close proximity to some of the largest paper mills in the United States and Canada, which translates to lower shipping costs and savings on paper.According to the company’s website, Dingley Press has more than 500 dedicated employees and ranks among the largest catalog printers in the United States. Dingley Press said it completed a $17 million expansion in 2017 to add capacity.

‘They just want to go home to their families’: Slow Down, Move Over rally aims to keep tow truck drivers safe [Video]

WELCOME BACK. IF YOU SEE FLASHING LIGHTS WHILE DRIVING, YOU SHOULD SLOW DOWN OR MOVE OVER BECAUSE ITS THE LAW. BUT THAT DOESNT ALWAYS HAPPEN. ONCE EVERY SIX DAYS. A FIRST RESPONDER DIES FROM DRIVERS WHO DONT FOLLOW THAT RULE. OUR WVTM 13 ZOE BLAIR HAS MORE ON HOW A LOCAL MANS DEATH IS SPARKING CHANGE AND CREATING HARSHER PENALTIES FOR PEOPLE WHO BREAK THAT RULE. 25 YEAR OLD TOW TRUCK DRIVER JOHN HUBBARD WAS HELPING A STRANDED CAR ON THE SIDE OF INTERSTATE 2059 WHEN HE WAS TRAGICALLY HIT AND KILLED IN 2016. JOHN LOVED THIS JOB AND JOHN ALSO. JOHN ALSO WAS VERY MUCH AWARE OF THE DANGERS OF THE JOB, AND HE WAS VERY MUCH INTO THIS SLOW DOWN, MOVE OVER MOVEMENT WHEN THAT HAPPENED. JASON HUBBARD LOST HIS BIG BROTHER EVERY YEAR SINCE JOHNS DEATH, LOCAL TOW TRUCK DRIVERS HAVE HELD A SLOWDOWN. MOVE OVER RALLY IN HOPES THAT MORE PEOPLE WILL MOVE OVER. JASON SAYS WHATEVER IS TAKING YOUR EYES OFF THE ROAD CAN WAIT. PAY ATTENTION. YOU KNOW THAT TEXT MESSAGE AINT WORTH PUTTING A FAMILY THROUGH. WHAT YOU KNOW WEVE HAD TO GO THROUGH FOR EIGHT YEARS AND YOU KNOW, ITS JUST NOT WORTH IT WHEN YOURE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND YOU SEE FLASHING LIGHTS OF ANY COLOR. SLOW DOWN, MOVE OVER. ITS THE LAW. AND ITS BEEN THAT WAY FOR QUITE SOME TIME. LEGISLATION PASSED EARLIER THIS YEAR IS IMPOSING HARSHER PUNISHMENTS ON DRIVERS WHO DONT FOLLOW THOSE RULES. THATS BECAUSE OF JOHN HUBBARDS STORY. JASON SAYS THE JOHN HUBBARD MOVE OVER ACT MEANS A LOT TO HIS FAMILY. THEY DID GET IT PASSED TO BE ABLE TO, YOU KNOW, TO GIVE MY MOTHER AT LEAST THAT RELIEF. KEVIN GOODYEAR OWNS SEVERAL TOWING COMPANIES AND KNEW JOHN HUBBARD PERSONALLY. HE HELPED GET THE LAW PASSED BECAUSE HE KNOWS JUST HOW DANGEROUS IT IS. EVERY TIME ONE OF HIS DRIVERS RESPONDS TO A CALL. ITS VERY DANGEROUS PLACE TO BE. THE LITTLE WHITE LINE THERE IS, IS, YOU KNOW, THATS LIFE AND DEATH RIGHT THERE. THAT LITTLE FOUR INCHES OVER 150 TRUCKS DROVE FROM HUEYTOWN TO TUSCALOOSA TO HELP ENCOURAGE DRIVERS TO SLOW DOWN AND MOVE OV
