Student Athlete of the Week: Riley Landis [Video]

WILLIAMSTOWN, W.Va. (WTAP) – Riley Landis is a senior basketball and volleyball player for the Williamstown Lady Jackets. She knows that being a student athlete is about putting in work both on the court and in the classroom.

“My definition of a student athlete is someone who obviously participates in any extracurricular activity, works on their schoolwork, and gets good grades,” said Landis. “I balance that by having good time management I would say.”

It can be a struggle for Riley having to balance her schoolwork and sports with her busy schedule, but she makes sure to set her priorities straight.

“My challenges are time management,” Landis said. “It’s the most important thing, but I struggle with it a lot. Balancing, getting all my schoolwork done, going to practice, hanging out with friends. It can be a lot, but just prioritizing it to be first is important.”
