Sportsman’s Expo boosts small businesses and the local economy | News [Video]

Redding, Calif. – Nearly 200 vendors packed the Redding Civic Auditorium on Saturday. The event draws vendors and visitors from all over the western United States and Canada. 

Expo co-promoter Karli Janc tells Action News Now that the influx of people drawn in for the event stay and shop locally giving a big boost to the local economy. In addition to the economic impact, the expo also helps many local small businesses. These businesses are mostly seasonal, so this event gives them a good start to their busy season. One local vendor, Spencer Mojarro, owns Spotlight Bowfishing. His business lets customers use archery to fish. Not only is it fun, he says, but it helps “control invasive species” in our waterways. Mojarro also tells us the Expo helps his businesses bottom line while, at the same time, being a good time for him and his family.
