Sioux City Planning and Zoning Commission approves rezoning for a new grocery store [Video]

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – A new grocery store is in the works to take shape on the near-Northside of Sioux City.

On Tuesday, Sioux City’s Planning and Zoning Commission approved the rezoning of 1303 and 1315 Douglas Street from mixed-use to General Commercial.

This would allow the property owner to open a new grocery store.

The owner plans to combine 1303 Douglas Street, which was home to Casa Del Ray 10 years ago, and 1315 Douglas Street, which served as the satellite transmission site for KCAU.

Many members of the commission agreed that having a grocery store in this location would be beneficial to the city.
