FRANKLIN, Ky. (WBKO) – Silicon Ranch, a Nashville-based solar energy company, is expanding its footprint in the Southeast with innovative solar projects aimed at community partnerships and environmental stewardship.
Two of their projects in the region, solar farms in Franklin and Russellville, will provide environmental, economic, and social benefits for members of those communities.
The Franklin Solar Farm, featuring 7,400 solar panels, generates 2.5 megawatts of energy annually – enough to power around 380 homes.
“It’s more of a back and forth between just Silicon Ranch and the local community,” said Chris F., Project Manager for Silicon Ranch. “We find the best spots to interconnect into the community and then start building the project.”
Looking ahead, the Russellville Solar Farm in Logan County will include 500,000 American-made solar panels, generating 173 megawatts annually, enough to supply power to 26,000 homes.
