SCRIBNER, Neb. (KOLN) – The business known as Elkhorn River Coffee Company is surrounded by grain bins, and the owner enjoys serving coffee to residents of this busy farming community.
Lisa Lawton’s new coffee venture is just over one year old.
“There was a need for coffee here in Scribner,” Lawton said. “I am originally from Scribner, and we moved away years ago when I was a child to the Pacific Northwest, so I have a love for coffee. My husband and I came back here often, and we wanted to move back here, so we did, as we have lots of family here. I didn’t like driving 12 miles for coffee, and I wanted to start a business, and I just decided we were going to do it, and we did it.”
