Officials say it was a garage fire that extended inside the home and attic which caused part of the roof to collapse.
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif — A Sacramento County family and their pets were able to escape a house fire, which likely started in the garage, according to Sacramento Metro Fire.
The fire happened on Sunrise Greens Drive, near Florin High School around 2:30 pm.
Metro Fire says Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputies quickly jumped in to help three people before they arrived.
“Able to pull out three of the occupants who were still inside, they had no idea there was a fire in their garage,” said Parker Wilbourn, Battalion Chief with Metro Fire.
The deputies were able to evacuate three people and four birds before the fire spread.
