Rochester Samurai Riders motorcycle club hosts 4th of July cookout for the homeless | News [Video]

ROCHESTER, Minn.-The Rochester Samurai Riders motorcycle club decided to bring its Independence Day celebrations to the Landing MN on Thursday, July 4, to bring kindness and cheer to the homeless during the holiday.

Carlos Blair, the branch president, said the club was inspired to host the event as a way of getting more involved in the community and to show those without a home on the holiday that the community sees them.

Thomas Dickerson, the founder of the Rochester branch, said the club wants to make sure the homeless know they are not forgotten.

“The Rochester Samurais are here to do work in the neighborhood and in the community,” Dickerson said.

The cookout did have to start later than expected due to the rainy weather, but it ran from noon to 3 p.m., and was able to cook over one hundred hamburgers and hot dogs to serve to the Landing’s …
