WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Every day, the images we see of Southern California become more shocking and a need for help grows.
That’s where the American Red Cross comes in sending hundreds of volunteers to aid in support and comfort, with 10 coming from North Carolina and 3 from the Cape Fear region.
Whole communities have been reduced to ash. Homes, businesses, and communities are gone in a matter of minutes.
“..some of the things we’re gonna have in here, we’re gonna have cots so being able to provide that resource for people on the ground so that they have a place to be that’s not on the ground,” said American Red Cross Executive Director James Jarvis.
For some of these volunteers, it’s another unspeakable tragedy they are bearing witness to.
