RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City locals had the opportunity to buy fresh peaches and other produce on Saturday, August 31, and it wasn’t just at the Farmer’s Market.
Randy Wolvington of Wolvington Farm and Ranch makes the drive to Rapid City from his farm in Chadron, NE. He works with Farmers in Utah and Idaho to bring the freshest fruit available to the Rapid City area.
When the fruit is ripe around Labor Day each year, Randy collects freshly picked fruit from his partner farms, then brings it home to his fruit stand in Chadron. The next day, he drives to the Rapid Valley Methodist Church to sell the rest of the fruit for one day only. From farm to table, it all happens in less than a week.
