Rapid City local gets new home from Habitat for Humanity | Lifestyle [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Gavin Nelson works as a custodian for Rapid City Public Schools, and like many in the area, he had been concerned about being able to purchase a home.

Today, however, he was welcomed into his new home provided by the Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity. Friends and family were in attendance to give housewarming gifts during the dedication ceremony.

The Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity provides affordable homes through donations and efforts such as its thrift outlet, Restore.

It’s not just the disenfranchised that they help. Others may receive support as well. Applicants simply need to meet income requirements and demonstrate their need.
