Premier League to discuss potential salary cap [Video]

The Premier League’s clubs are to discuss the potential introduction of a hard salary cap at its latest Shareholders’ Meeting on Monday.

Having failed to reach a ‘New Deal’ for funding with the English Football League (EFL), the Premier League wants to sort out its own financial rules.

It is committed to changing the current Profit and Sustainability Regulations that have seen Everton and Nottingham Forest deducted points.

It had been thought that pegging spending to revenue in line with a system advocated by European football’s governing body Uefa would have been the alternative chosen.
