Police identify 23-year-old who died when car flipped on freeway [Video]

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, MI – Police have identified the woman who died when her car flipped several times on a Livingston County freeway.

Brooke Elizabeth Newman, 23, of Jackson was killed Aug. 10 in a single-vehicle crash near Nicholson Road in Handy Township, confirmed Lt. Chad Sell with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

Newman was a student at Dorsey College of Nursing in Wayne and was working as a certified nursing assistant at Jackson County Medical Care Facility, according to an obituary published by Desnoyer Funeral Home in Jackson.

She was a 2018 graduate of Lumen Christi Catholic High School and licensed esthetician through the Brighton Institute of Cosmetology.

“Brooke was known for her huge heart, her loyalty, her sense of humor, and her fierce independence,” her obituary reads.
